From PMBI & PMBIA to the Global Syndicate of Mountain Bike Coaches.

ZEP Mountain Bike Camps has a proud history of setting the standard for mountain bike coaching. As founders of the Professional Mountain Bike Instructor (PMBI) program and PMBI Association (PMBIA), we helped shape instructor training and certification worldwide. Paul Howard was the key author of all PMBI and PMBIA materials up to late 2024, laying the foundation for coaching excellence.

Since January 2025, we’ve launched the Global Syndicate of Mountain Bike Coaches (GSMBC) — the next evolution in mountain bike coach education. Paul now serves as Education Director and President, dedicating over two decades of his life to providing opportunities for individuals, clubs, and businesses to strengthen their communities through higher standards in mountain bike coaching.

A pioneer in the field, Paul’s passion for mountain bike coaching runs deeply through everything we do at ZEP. GSMBC reflects that same commitment, offering globally recognized, practical training and certification for coaches at every level.
